Watford school trains teachers in Orienteering

16 staff from Cherry Tree Primary School, Watford braved the January chill to take part in an after-school teacher training session. The aim was to demonstrate example lessons, games & activities for them to teach across the whole school, for their children to learn orienteering. The 1.5 hour session concluded with a timed competition around the school grounds.

The training marked the final stage of setting Cherry Tree Primary School up with everything they need to teach orienteering on their school site. Previously we have mapped the site and installed permanent orienteering plaques around the school. The staff will go away with their maps, games and lesson plans on a CD which they can print and start teaching orienteering.

Good luck to all the staff at Cherry Tree Primary School and thank you for working with us!

If your school would like to get involved and teach orienteering on site, no matter the size of the site, we can help. Get in touch to discuss your options.
